    This remote waterfront cabin is located on Dog Lake, a gorgeous spot in Haliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve. This cabin is approximately 300 meters away from our Cove Cabin, on its own private lake, and is the perfect base camp for cyclists, hikers, and paddlers wanting a place to relax and unwind after a day of adventuring in the Haliburton Highlands. In the winter guests can take advantage of the snowy conditions of the Algonquin Dome for an ultimate snowmobile & winter ATVing getaway!

     

    As part of our partnership with Haliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve, our guests have access to 100,000 acres of wilderness for each day of their stay. Enjoy over 400km of hiking & mountain biking trails right outside your door from April through November, or purchase a snowmobile pass once the snow falls to access these unique, professionally groomed trails throughout the winter months.

     

    Please keep in mind that between November & May this back-country cabin is hike-in or snowmobile/ATV access only. We provide a sled and snowshoes for the hike-in, but please note, this is a challenging ~2 hour hike on rugged terrain. We recommend the hike-in for experienced adventurers only. However, during this season, for an additional fee, guests can opt into our shuttling service to be shuttled to and from the cabin when they check-in and check-out – no hike required!

    Rhya Cabin offers a unique opportunity to stay on Rideau Valley Conservation land in the Eastern Ontario township of Tay Valley! This off-grid retreat overlooks a quiet, protected lake and is surrounded by wilderness. Rhya is comfortably tucked in an inlet of it’s very own, but shares the lake with our Mica Cabin, which is situated on a peninsula 400 meters away.     Sage Cabin is located in Haliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve on a cleared campsite surrounded by forest. Each of our Haliburton Forest Micro Cabins are about 100 meters apart from one another, offering guests relative privacy with the comfort of knowing others are close by. All three cabins are identical in design and come with their own fire pit, BBQ and picnic table. (If you are looking for a more remote/private cabin experience, consider looking at our Wilderness Cabins for rent.)

    Please keep in mind that after Deer Hunting Season in mid-November, this cabin is hike-in or snowmobile/ATV access only. We provide a sled and snowshoes for the hike-in, but please note, this is a moderate ~20 minute hike. We recommend packing lightly for the hike-in. However, for an additional fee, guests can opt into our shuttling service from mid-November to mid-March to be shuttled to and from the cabin when they check-in and check-out – no hike required!

    Our Calabogie cabins (Starling, Finch and Wren) are located on the forested grounds of Calabogie Peaks Resort, suspended above the shores of Calabogie Lake near the base of Dickson Mountain. Each cabin offers expansive views of the lake and land below with direct access to some of the best hiking trails in Southern Ontario. Experience breathtaking views, world class hiking, cycling, skiing, and more. Explore thousands of acres of crown land through the lush Ottawa Valley — including the renown Eagles Nest lookout!
     
    As part of our partnership with Calabogie Peaks Resort, Resort Day Passes (optional) are available to Cabinscape guests who want the full resort experience. The resort offers limitless seasonal activities like snowboarding, paddling, tennis, a public beach, golf course, spa and two on-site restaurants.
     
    Located away from the main resort on a secluded part of the property, all three cabins are identical in design and come with their own fire pit, BBQ and picnic table. Each cabin is located about 200-300 metres apart from its neighbour on its own forested lot. These cabins are ideal for guests who prefer to be close to amenities with access to lots of outdoor activities. (If you’re looking for a more remote/backcountry wilderness experience, you’ll want to check out our medium or high remote level cabins).
